We ended up doing Lucy's baby blessing when she was just a few weeks old, earlier than I had thought we would want to do it. But we realized this might be our best chance to do her baby blessing with family around, since Tommy's dad and Callie were coming out to visit. So we wanted to try and do it with her grandpa here, and I'm glad we did. It ended up working out really well and we had a great turn-out because lots of Myres relatives ended up being in town for my cousin's baptism the day before! It was really nice to have so many people come for her blessing, and we felt so special.
She was so tiny that it was hard to find a white dress that would fit her. We had a family blessing dress from Tommy's sister but she was absolutely swimming in it--it was falling off her shoulders. So this was the best one I could find on late notice. She looked really cute in it.
Tommy did her blessing. He blessed her to have a healthy and strong body, to be kind and compassionate, and to have the Spirit with her to recognize truth and to protect her from being distracted by the world. (I did record it, and I need to write it down.) We talked about her blessing during the week before to decide what things we both thought would be nice to include in there, so it was a joint effort.
All our family who came! Leiningers, Myres, Colemans, Bodines, and Warners. So nice of them all to come!
Dane with all the big boy cousins. They are so cute! Ethan, in the middle, was baptized the day before and we were able to go out for it.
Grandpa Leininger, Callie, and Kurt were all there too.
Dane was being a total pill about taking a picture with us. Haha.
So nice to have to wrestle with him to get a family picture after the baby blessing...
We love this sweet girl! She is so nice!
