i had my first day of school today! although i still really don't know what i'm doing, and although i was close to terrified as i walked into my first class, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. my classes don't seem very difficult compared to what i was imagining, but they'll be enough to keep me very busy.
i love the first day of school, though. even though this is what, the seventeenth or eighteenth first day of school i've ever had, i still get nervous and excited. i always loved the ritual of going to office max to buy my school supplies, getting new notebooks and highlighters and dividers. i love the first day of class where you do nothing useful and you go around, introducing yourself and having to think about "something interesting" to say about yourself. i especially loved today, being at a totally new school that i was totally unfamiliar with--i had a really good time exploring a new school, a new place, with new people. it was great. and then next week is when it's really going to get hard.

Alyse this is so exciting! You are becoming a master in writing! Ha. I am so excited for you, but miss you dearly. Provo really just feels different knowing that you are not in it. North Carolina is lucky to you have you and Tommy! You guys look like you had so much fun on your trip too. Hooray!
