i didn't really appreciate the books we read in high school when we read them in high school.

i just re-read this today and it. was. SO. awesome. i don't remember liking it that much in high school but i loved it now. i was THIS close to crying at the end. lessons learned: don't judge what you don't understand. love and people > things and money. (but i knew that anyways.)
i read it because i'm in an african american lit class right now and it has inspired me to revisit some of the good books i've read. next up: beloved by toni morrison. and i just bought zora's autobiography on amazon. she is just joy.

maybe you are related to me...being attracted to African-American literature and all. So glad you are liking your classes.
