bette midler

i know bette seems like kind of an . . . interesting musical taste for, well, anyone to have, but i can't help loving her. and this cd.

camille can testify--when we were kids, i think was the only cd our family had. we would sneak into the den and put it on our computer and listen to "boogie woogie bugle boy" and "chapel of love" and "miss otis regrets" and, of course, "the rose," over and over and over again. i was probably what, eight?

point is, you don't get over something you've got that great of a connection with. but the cd got scratched (probably from eight- and six-year-olds handling it constantly) and so the music never made it onto my computer. i never knew what i was missing.

fast forward twelve years. enter brad meehan.

brad was one of tommy's good friends in high school, who then somehow (accidentally or not, i don't know) ended up in his same ward right after their missions, and then two years later moved in to be tommy's roommate, right as tommy and i were An Item. here are a few pictures of brad so you can get to know him.

brad is one of the most agreeable people i've ever met, AND hands down my favorite dancer, which is why the only pictures i have of him are him dancing. he majored in geography and he currently works at some fabulous job in washington d.c. (next time we go up there for more than 24 hours we are going to be visiting him, of course.)

and he secured a place forever in my heart by loving bette midler as much as i do. for our wedding, he gave us the above cd. it might have been my favorite wedding gift--my life has been complete ever since. (well, because of the wedding AND because of the cd.)

today i spent an hour or two scrapbooking and listening to bette midler. i told tommy that (since he's busy working away on campus) and he said, "wow, you're a winner."

yeah, i know. don't be jealous.

and brad, thanks for the cd. I LOVE IT.
