We got back from Utah late on December 30, so our New Year's Eve plans were super low-key.
We had a finger foods dinner, including--our favorite--bacon-wrapped little smokies.
Lucy decided to pull herself up to standing all by herself!
We did the traditional demolishing of the gingerbread house, which even Lucy got in on. Look at how excited she is:
We broke off the chimney and let her chew on the gingerbread and she was happy with that.
Then we took some New Year's pictures, watched the New Year's countdown on Netflix, and then the kids went to bed!
The adults stayed up playing a few games, and we meant to go to bed way early, but ended up still being awake at midnight. So happy new year!
On New Year's Day, we went shopping for new beds for the boys and found some! We moved Graham out of the crib (it is definitely past time) and Dane has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for the last two years, so it's about time. We got a bunk bed for them, but we specifically found one that's not a bunk bed only so they will be separated for a few years before we put them together.
The first night with Graham in a big boy bed! This transition was SO not a big deal. He hasn't really gotten out of his bed at all. I think that's because of watching Dane for years, and because he spent the last six weeks sleeping not in a crib in Ecuador and Utah. So phew! Maybe his potty training will be that easy too?
And finally, now Lucy gets a crib too! Instead of having to sleep in the pack n play! She's so big!
We got a few toddler toys out of the attic for Lucy and of course Dane and Graham want to play with them just as much as she does.
Dane made another "No Girls" sign for his door. Haha.

I put on Daniel Tiger for the first time (we'd never really watched it because it's not on Netflix) and all three of them loved it.

One of Dane's presents was tae kwon do lessons at the Fun Club. He feels very big going to these classes.

Graham has been feeling kind of left out lately, with Dane going back to preschool and tae kwon do lessons, so I organized a few play dates for him and a little playgroup of just two-year-olds for him while Dane is in preschool. Here he is showing his friend Emmi his dance moves.

Haha I saw a friend at Costco and she said, "Oh my goodness, I need to take your picture, of you with your three kids at Costco." I guess this is a big accomplishment! I can handle Costco with all three kids because they are happy with the samples. I don't do the grocery store with all of them any more.

Lucy is now insisting we feed her big people food. Only small bites of what we're eating, none of that pureed baby stuff any more, please.
So nice when the toy designed for the one-year-old is still entertaining to the five-year-old.
It's so cute now that Lucy is crawling and standing everywhere. She's super happy everywhere we go and she feels so big.
We went to one of the Plano libraries to pick up a book I had on hold, and they had a storytime with an art project at the end. I was pretty impressed that Graham was actually coloring his.
Grandma Leininger sent Dane these reading books and he is blasting through them! His reading is definitely still at a very very beginning level, but it's amazing how just doing a little bit of practicing every day helps. He read three of these beginning reader books yesterday (by his own choice) and is very proud of himself.
