Getting Ready for Christmas

Something that I love is how much babies love the lights at Christmastime. I love putting up Christmas lights in the boys' room every year and having them be so enthralled and in love with the lights every time we put them to bed. We also put our little mini-Christmas tree from a few years ago in there and they just love it.

Picking out our real Christmas tree one freezing and wet morning at Lowes.

Kurt came up and helped us decorate it.

Andddd then the next morning we woke up and it had fallen over during the night. It was just completely horizontal on the floor. It was really hilarious and totally freaky and intimidating at the same time. Tommy just left it in the corner (he said it was in time-out) for most of the day until Kurt came up again and could help him make sure it was really level this time.

We went to go visit a Nativity display at a nearby LDS chapel. It was really beautiful and nice. I love seeing Nativities from all around the world and it made me want to go buy a billion more, although we don't have any more places to display them, really.

They also had a place where you could dress up in a Nativity scene.

Dane was very happy to be a sheep.

Tommy's work Christmas party was a big hit. Dane ran right up to Santa and gave him a huge hug.

Graham was utterly terrified and wouldn't let Tommy put him down.

They had a little Christmas train ride for the kids too.

We also got to meet Santa at our ward Christmas party! Dane was so cute telling him exactly what he wanted for Christmas.

The ward party was really nice. They had a live Nativity with the young men and women, and all the kids got to sit and watch it. Dane was sooooo funny during the Nativity--he put his arm around his little friend Millie and looked like he was trying to kiss her. I couldn't help but take some pictures. For the record, I don't think he really was trying to kiss her--he says he was just "shushing" her.

We were really pleased with our Christmas lights this year. Tommy is very experienced with doing lights on trees and they looked really good. We tried to do some on the house but the roof was too steep and too high and I didn't think we wanted to have Tommy fall off the roof while trying to do the lights. But it looked great! I love decorating for Christmas--don't really love having to un-decorate, but it does feel great to get everything cleaned up and back to normal at the end of the season.
