Dane learned so many tricks while we were in California. One thing he learned was to smile on command--we would say "SMILE!" and he'd break into this cheesy hilarious grin.
There's that cheesy grin.
He also learned how to give kisses while we were there. He REALLY was playing to his audience here, haha.
He loved reading books with his grandpa!
And Grandpa would bring him over to the Christmas tree and they'd sit there looking at it together for a while, playing with the ornaments. (Dane was really good about not actually touching the tree--he was so cute about it!)

We all wore our Myres family reunion shirts on the day of Wes's surgery to show our support for TEAM WES!
On Christmas Eve, we did the traditional Myres family Nativity scene, and somehow we ended up as the front-runners to be Mary and Joseph. Dane was a very irreverent and naked baby Jesus... he kept running away.
The Murphy and Myres family cousins in the pageant... and the missionaries who were over at our house for Christmas Eve as the wise men.
This was Dane's face on Christmas morning. He didn't even know what was going on and he was so happy!

Tommy and Brandon got the idea for them to wear some of Dallin's and Austin's old clothes that they'd left at the house, especially Dallin's Hawaiian shirts he would wear with his friends on "Hawaiian Shirt Mondays." Dane got in on the action too.
And here are the cute elders themselves! So fun to see them and hear their voices. We MISSED you both, Elder Murphys!
We had SUCH a great time with my family in CA. It is so worth it to fly across the country when we get to see them all and see how happy Dane is with them. Really, Dane didn't have one bad day while we were there (or in Utah)--he was so excited by being in a new location and with all these fun, wonderful people. Thank goodness for that!
