It's Wednesday night and Bethany will email tomorrow and I wanted to post some pictures to this blog so she can see them. I will not be this consistent forever, Bethany, but hey, two weeks in a row is great right!?
Speaking of Bethany... my kids have the best aunts and uncles ever. They are super spoiled because they have tons of aunts and uncles on both sides who don't have kids yet and so who dote on them like crazy. They get so much attention and love and they have no idea how lucky they are to be the center of attention like this. CASE IN POINT: Dallin and Krystel took a crazy long detour out of their way as they drove from Provo, Utah to Connecticut for their internship this summer so they could stay with us for four days, instead of sightseeing in other cool locations or saving time on their drive. They did this so that they could see our kids and bond with them, since we haven't seen them since their wedding--and maybe a little bit so they could see us too. THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. Not many people have family like this.
Also, another example of our cool family: all of my siblings and five of Tommy's eight siblings have been to our house now. They come to see us. One of my friends here told me, "You're always getting visitors!" Yeah, we're pretty spoiled.
Dallin and Krystel got in on Saturday afternoon and we met them at the Dallas Myres' house for swimming and dinner for Nathan's birthday. Lucy was the instant hit.
Graham was soooo excited to swim with Daddy there.
Is this not the CUTEST picture ever? These four cute kiddos with their popsicles? Rachel and Ava are both our boys' ages, even though they are MY cousins. Lucky kids. Graham tonight prayed saying he was thankful for Ava, Rachel, and Ethan.
Celebrating Nathan's 42nd birthday!
We spent a quiet Sunday together--meaning, I took no pictures--but then on Monday we went to our park and Dane and Graham wanted to play soccer with them.
Graham made Dallin carry him on his shoulders the entire time, and kept yelling "Run! Run" whenever he would slow down. He was a tireless slave driver.
He dug his fingers into Dallin's ears to hold on and was digging around in there. Hahaha.
One thing that Dallin really wanted to do here was to see Cars 3 with Dane. We bought out the theater.
It was Graham's (and Lucy's) first time seeing a movie in a movie theater.
He was super impressed, but pretty much over it by the time we finished the HALF HOUR of previews. Tommy and I spent a while following him around and he was begging to "doh home!" by the end.
Rudy's BBQ!
Lucy's got a big fan club and she's pretty nonchalant about it.
Dallin and Krystel were the chaperones for the swimmers at the Fun Club. They were so nice to follow them around the water park the whole time. We weren't sure they would be open because it had been thundering and lightning earlier, but we showed up RIGHT when they were opening back up after being closed for the lightning, and it was perfect. Not overly hot and almost empty. Totally the best!
I spent most of my time sitting with this cutie in a swimsuit.
Dane dragged Krystel around the place pretending to "spy" on Dallin and running away whenever they saw him.
I'm trying to get SOME pictures of me with our guests instead of JUST our kids. We had fun each night staying up late talking and playing games with them. We introduced Krystel to Ticket to Ride and Bohnanza AND Boggle--and pretty sure Tommy won all of them.
Lucy girl was giving them big smiles as they left this morning.
BYE Dallin and Krystel! We were sad to say good-bye but man, had so much fun with them! It's a bummer that they won't be in Utah for the family reunion while we are there, but they are going to have a great summer in CT.
