our trip back out west: ogden

Things have been very quiet around here lately, and that's because we've been on vacation for the last month (we are on the totally spoiled grad student schedule) and I have had no interest in anything having to do with the computer. We spent the last month visiting both of our families at various times, seeing my brother off on his mission, greeting Tommy's brother who just came home from his mission, going to two different family reunions, and generally having a blast. It is always so much fun to see our families--and now that Dane is here, everyone is begging to have us for as long as we want!

We flew into town on a Thursday and almost the first thing we did was take family pictures with Tommy's family. It's a really rare event to get all nine kids in one spot at the same time, so they always try to get a family picture when it does happen. And I think they turned out really nice! Here's a preview of what they look like (they're screenshots from the photographer's website, since we can't download them):

And then here are some random pictures from the different times we were at their house in Ogden. We were there at the very beginning of our trip for two days, and then in the middle for about four days, and then again at the end of the trip for two days--so these are seriously out of order, haha. (And yes, we have seriously been all over the place. I'm surprised we're all in one piece still. And so far, I don't think we lost anything--not even a receipt.)

Dane seriously had a crush on Mayah. Every time she walked by him he would start grinning and panting and crying for her. He LOVED her!

He also had a crush on Jet and Murphy, our family's two dogs. He was a little scared of them, but when he got over his fear he would grin and smile and laugh as he petted them.

One thing Dane got to do this trip was officially meet his great-grandma Merrill, the last grandparent of his that he hadn't met. It was really fun for us to spend a few days with her.

Great-Grandma Merrill with most of her great-grandchildren.

These three baby boys were all born within eight months of each other. One thing I really wanted to do while I was out there was take a picture of the three of these boys together. I'm so glad Dane has cousins who will be his friends growing up!

We got a lot of good pictures of Dane and Zach together, since they were a lot more mobile and interested in each other than Jaxon was (so far!). Seriously, it's almost impossible to not take pictures when there are two babies doing something together. It's so funny to see them together.

Oh man, and this doesn't even touch the tip of the iceberg for our trip! It's really crazy when you think about what we did while we were out there. And we aren't even done traveling yet for this summer. So stay tuned for more pictures once I go through them all!
