family pictures

i was thinking about how this blog has evolved over time. i've been writing on this blog since the summer of 2009 (a month or two before we got married). and i always kind of had this prejudice against mommy blogs--or at least, i never wanted this blog to turn into one. well, sorry to say (to my younger self, anyway) that this blog basically has turned into a mommy blog. i promise to never post detailed discussions about breastfeeding or nursery decorating, mostly because i find that kind of mom talk pretty boring, to be honest. but all i want to post about any more is HOW CUTE MY BABY IS. it's understandable, right? i spend all day with him and there are so many moments that i wish i had someone else here to validate me in obsessing over how cute he is. therefore, all the blog posts with just a bunch of pictures of him. (also, i DO have mental blog posts that on other non-dane topics that i want to actually write out, but it never seems to happen. i sit down to blog so infrequently now that whenever i do, i want to share more pictures of dane.)

but anyways, on to the main event: some REALLY REALLY great pictures. we had a family picture session with a friend, sarah, who is an amazing photographer, and she posted these pictures as a preview on her blog. i downloaded them to share on here so that our brothers on missions could see them (the blog post is getting sent to their email address so they'll get to read it as an email--so, austin and kurt, if you're actually reading this, sorry, you can just look at the pictures instead of reading this random babbling). we took these pictures at duke, right next to tommy's building, which make them doubly special. i don't know why i put so much effort into thinking about tommy's and my outfits when obviously the only one who mattered was dane--he is the superstar. i can't wait to see the rest and hang them up on our walls! 

(fyi, this first one is my favorite. i mean, ARE YOU SERIOUS? i just want to gobble him up.)
